Itinerary: Culture & Wildlife Tanzania Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha, Tanzania
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and meet your guide for a transfer to a 4-star historic hotel in Arusha. Enjoy modern comforts including a swimming pool, gym, and tranquil gardens before beginning your Tanzania Safari the next day.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park & Lake Manyara
Start the adventure with a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and baobab-studded landscapes. After a packed lunch and game drive, travel to a luxury lodge near Lake Manyara, perched on the Rift Valley escarpment with breathtaking views.
Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park & Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tour
Explore Lake Manyara National Park, famous for its tree-climbing lions and pink flamingos. In the afternoon, take a guided walking tour in Mto wa Mbu village for your first cultural encounter of the Tanzania Safari.
Day 4: Lake Manyara to Olduvai Gorge & Serengeti National Park
Visit the renowned Olduvai Gorge before entering Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a game drive in the central Seronera region, known for big cat sightings. Overnight at a luxury tented camp inside the Serengeti.
Day 5 & 6: Full-Day Game Drives in Serengeti National Park
Spend two days on safari in Serengeti, where you may witness the Wildebeest Great Migration (seasonal). Enjoy 4×4 game drives or take an optional hot air balloon safari for a bird’s eye view of the plains.
Day 7: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Depart Serengeti and travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. After checking in to a luxury tented camp, visit a traditional Maasai Homestead to experience indigenous culture firsthand.
Day 8: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater & Travel to Karatu
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day game drive in one of Africa’s most biodiverse wildlife havens. Later, travel to Karatu and stay at a serene farm lodge, followed by a guided coffee plantation tour.
Day 9: Cultural Visit to Lake Eyasi – Hadzabe & Datoga Tribes
Enjoy a deeply immersive cultural day with the Hadzabe and Datoga people. Learn about their hunter-gatherer lifestyle and later visit a rural Tanzanian school (subject to availability).
Day 10: Return to Kilimanjaro Airport
After a relaxed breakfast, travel back to Arusha with a lunch stop at a scenic coffee estate. Transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport or Arusha town, concluding your 10-day Tanzania Safari journey.
