Detailed Zanzibar and Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Stone Town (Zanzibar)
Start your Zanzibar and Tanzania Safari by meeting your tour group in Dar es Salaam. A ferry ride takes you to Zanzibar Island, where you’ll stay overnight in the cultural heart of Stone Town, once a hub of the spice and slave trade.
Day 2 & 3: Zanzibar Beach Resort & Spice Tour
Explore Stone Town’s winding streets and historic landmarks before heading to the island’s east coast for two relaxing days at a beach resort. Visit a spice plantation along the way and enjoy optional activities like scuba diving, snorkelling, and dhow sailing.
Day 4: Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam and Bagamoyo
Catch the ferry back to Dar es Salaam, then drive to Bagamoyo, a historic coastal town. Enjoy the beach and soak in the vibrant culture of this charming town along Tanzania’s coast.
Day 5: Bagamoyo to Arusha
Travel inland to Arusha, the gateway to the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit. Prepare for the upcoming wildlife safari to Serengeti and Ngorongoro by packing a smaller overnight bag for 4×4 game drives.
Day 6: Arusha to Karatu via Mto wa Mbu
Drive through the scenic landscapes of northern Tanzania and stop at the colourful local market in Mto wa Mbu. Overnight in Karatu, near the Ngorongoro Highlands.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Safari & Transfer to Serengeti
Enjoy a spectacular 4×4 safari in the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater, then head to the iconic Serengeti National Park. Spend the night in a comfortable tented camp in the Seronera region.
Day 8: Full-Day Safari in Serengeti National Park

Day 9: Serengeti to Arusha

Important Notes

Witnessing the Wildebeest Great Migration is a seasonal experience. Although we aim to position our safaris during peak movement periods in the Serengeti and Masai Mara, sightings cannot be guaranteed due to the unpredictable nature of wildlife migrations.
