Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Lusaka, Zambia
Meet at the lodge in Lusaka at 16:00 for a safari briefing and group dinner. Spend the night in a lodge with en-suite safari chalets, pool, restaurant, and bar.
Day 2: Travel to the Kafue River
Journey through Zambia’s scenic hills to a tranquil riverside lodge on the Kafue River. Enjoy sundowners overlooking the river after a long travel day (approx. 8 hours).
Days 3–4: Canoeing the Lower Zambezi River
Paddle down the Zambezi River past local villages and watch for hippos and birds. Camp on a wild island with no facilities for a true bush experience. Return to the riverside lodge on day 4 via motorboat transfer.
Day 5: Lusaka to Petauke via the Great East Road
Drive through Lusaka and continue east through rural Zambia to a lodge near Petauke (approx. 9.5 hours).
Days 6–8: South Luangwa National Park Safari
Explore Zambia’s premier wildlife park with guided walking safaris and open-vehicle game drives, including a night drive. Stay in riverside chalets and enjoy excellent leopard sightings and birdwatching.
Day 9: Cross into Malawi – Lilongwe
Travel from South Luangwa to Malawi’s capital, Lilongwe. Spend the afternoon exploring the city and markets before overnighting in a comfortable lodge.
Days 10–11: Mulanje Massif
Tour a tea plantation and hike the misty trails of Mount Mulanje, Malawi’s tallest mountain. Discover waterfalls, endemic flora, and panoramic views from this granite massif. Overnight at a tranquil mountain lodge.
Days 12–13: Liwonde National Park Safari

Days 14–15: Lake Malawi & Nankoma Island

Day 16: Return to Lilongwe
