As soon as we get to the park, the game-watching fun begins. We spend a few hours in our enclosed tour vehicle visiting the wildlife park. Around noon, we get to Ivory Tree Game Lodge. Enjoy a light lunch at this fancy safari lodge before we go on a late-afternoon game drive in an open-sided 4×4 safari car. We also get to see many other animals and birds that live in Pilanesberg. As we hike, our guide tells us a lot about the plants and animals we see and the places they live. How to get to Pilanesberg National Park in South Africa
Pilanesberg is the fourth-biggest game park in South Africa. It covers about 55,000 hectares, which is about 135,908 acres. It is one of the best Big 5 game areas close to Johannesburg and one of the easiest safari parks in the country to get to.
In the Bojanala Region of the North West Province, in a transitional plant zone, you can find Pilanesberg National Park. It’s also the place where the dry Kalahari Desert and the wet Lowveld biomes meet. Because of this, many different kinds of animals, plants, and birds live here. You can find almost all of Southern Africa’s animal species in Pilanesberg. This includes rare and threatened species like African wild dogs and roan, sable, and tsessebe antelopes. There are five types of animals that live in Pilanesberg: the elephant, the rhinoceros, the lion, the buffalo, and the leopard. The national park is home to cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, crocodiles, jackals, wild cats, and different kinds of antelopes. Also, more than 360 kinds of birds have been seen in Pilanesberg National Park.
The North West Parks Board is in charge of the Pilanesberg National Park, which is a state park. The national park was created in a crater by a volcano erupting millions of years ago. This is an interesting story about the park. The volcano that is no longer active is an interesting geological spot with beautiful views.
