A drive to the southwestern part of Uganda will get you to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park it’s one of the small parks but one of the biggest reasons to Visit Uganda. It’s the park in Uganda where you can track Mountain Gorillas and Golden Monkeys, two world endangered animals. Mgahinga National Park has one habituated gorilla group called Nyakagezi, which tends to move around most times, made up of 9 members, and also has some of the bog game including buffalos, forest elephants, leopards, jackals, bush pigs, duikers, and bushbucks. Birdlife in the park is also quite impressive with about 178 to 184 recorded species of species.

3 Days Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park: Detailed Itinerary

 Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Eat early breakfast and you will be picked-up by the safari guide to commence your three days safari as you transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National with lunch enroute.on arrival at the park check in at your accommodation facility.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Have early breakfast, and head onto the park headquarters for briefing from the park guides. Make sure to carry with you packed lunch and drinking water since you may spend some good hours in search of the habituated Nyakagezi gorilla group since their movement is unpredicted rangers do track their movements all thus failing to find them is minimal. When you find them you are allowed not more than an hour around them. After trekking, return to the lodge to relax, have dinner and then overnight.

Day 3: Transfer to Kampala

Wake early to eat your breakfast and thereafter transfer back to Kampala.
