Namibia Desert Safari (Budget Lodge Tour)

Day 1: Windhoek to Namib-Naukluft National Park – Namibia

On the inaugural day of the Namibia Desert Lodge Safari, guests are retrieved from their lodgings in Windhoek between 8:00 and 8:30 AM. We journey from Windhoek into the ancient Namib Desert over the picturesque Khomas Hochland, one of Namibia’s highest elevations, offering an ideal vantage point to observe the splendid surrounding valleys.
The abrupt decline of the Gamsberg leads us to the settlement of Solitaire, situated adjacent to the Namib-Naukluft National Park. Upon arriving at the eccentric hamlet of Solitaire, we will have lunch before to proceeding to our lodging. While traveling to our guest farm, we remain vigilant for wildlife sightings, particularly springbok, ostrich, and oryx.
We spent our initial two nights at the guest farm located on the outside of Namib-Naukluft Park, approximately midway between Solitaire and Sesriem. This reserve, the largest in Namibia, spans roughly 50,000 km² and is among the largest game parks in Africa. The guest farm provides breathtaking vistas of the adjacent woods, perfect for unwinding with evening drinks at day’s end.

Day 2: Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon – Namibia

Today, we rise early for an unforgettable day of touring the renowned Namib Desert in Namibia. We go to the Namib-Naukluft National Park, traversing barren desert terrains until we reach the entrance gate of this extensive protected region.
Upon entering Namib-Naukluft Park, we proceed to Dune 45, the park’s most renowned dune. Ascend the sand dunes to appreciate the stunning vistas of the Tsauchab River Canyon and the adjacent dunes. Upon descending the dune, you are rewarded with breakfast and coffee provided by your guide in this breathtaking desert locale.
Rejuvenated, we embark on a brief drive to the commencement of our two-hour trek into the remarkable, tranquil Hiddenvlei region of Sossusvlei, observing animal trails along the way. We observe the sharp contrast of white clay pans interspersed with gnarled tree trunks, surrounded by orange dunes. Sossusvlei is renowned for its tall sand dunes, regarded as among the highest globally.
Subsequently, we proceed to Sesriem Canyon, taking a break for lunch at Sesriem Camp. This distinctive canyon comprises a one-kilometre-long valley around 30 metres deep, sculpted by the Tsauchab River some 2 million years ago. Following this hectic day, we return to our guest farm situated on the periphery of the expansive Namib Desert Park.

Day 3: Sesriem to Windhoek – Namibia

Our concluding day commences leisurely as we ready ourselves to depart from the Namib Desert and return to Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
