Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Cape Town to Citrusdal – South Africa
Depart Cape Town, stopping for a panoramic view of Table Mountain. Drive through the Western Cape to Citrusdal in the Cederberg Region, known for rugged mountains and citrus orchards.

Day 2: Citrusdal to Orange River – Namibia
Pass through the colorful Namaqualand region before crossing into Namibia. Camp by the Orange River.

Days 7–8: Swakopmund – Namibia

Enjoy a final game drive before heading northeast to camp on the banks of the Kavango River near Divundu.

Cross into Botswana and continue the overland journey towards the Okavango Delta, overnighting in Maun.

Day 15: Maun to Khwai River Conservation Area (Okavango Delta) – Botswana
Start your day with an optional scenic flight over the Okavango Delta (weather permitting), then transfer into 4×4 safari vehicles for a journey into the pristine Khwai River floodplains. Enjoy two nights at a tented camp in the heart of the Okavango Delta, where wildlife roams freely just beyond your tent.
In the afternoon, experience a traditional mokoro (dugout canoe) trip led by local guides. Glide peacefully through reed-lined waterways, stopping for a guided nature walk on one of the delta’s islands before returning to camp at sunset.

Day 16: Moremi Game Reserve (Okavango Delta) – Botswana
Embark on a full-day game drive through Moremi Game Reserve, one of Africa’s most diverse ecosystems. Moremi is rich in wildlife including Africa’s Big 5, cheetahs, wild dogs, hippos, crocodiles, and a stunning variety of birds. Named after Chief Moremi of the BaTawana tribe, the reserve offers pristine habitats of grasslands, lagoons, and papyrus swamps.

Day 17: Khwai to Maun & Nata (Makgadikgadi Pans) – Botswana
Today, we journey back to Maun, rejoining our overland truck before heading through rural Botswana to the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans. These ancient salt flats are the remnants of a prehistoric lake and offer a surreal, otherworldly landscape. Wildlife such as zebra and migratory birds frequent the pans in the wet season.

Day 18: Nata to Kasane & Chobe National Park – Botswana
Travel northeast to Kasane, where four countries converge. After lunch, enjoy a spectacular boat cruise on the Chobe River. Observe elephants, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos up close, along with diverse birdlife, as you cruise past the banks of Chobe National Park.

Days 19–20: Victoria Falls – Zimbabwe
Cross into Zimbabwe to explore Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Your time here is flexible—choose from optional activities like guided tours, helicopter flights, white-water rafting, bungee jumping, or a sunset Zambezi River cruise. Or simply relax at your lodge or explore the vibrant town.

Day 21: Victoria Falls to Francistown – Botswana
Return to Botswana and travel south to Francistown, where we overnight at a peaceful lodge with a pool to unwind after the day’s drive.

Day 22: Francistown to Johannesburg – South Africa
Journey along the Great North Road to South Africa. Travel through bushveld and farmland into the economic heart of the country, Gauteng Province, arriving in Johannesburg in the late afternoon.

Days 23–24: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park – South Africa
Depart for the world-famous Kruger National Park. This part of the safari transitions to a small group tour. Stay in a private concession inside Kruger and enjoy a full-day 4×4 game drive led by experienced rangers in search of Africa’s Big 5 and more.

Day 25: Panorama Route – South Africa
Explore the scenic Panorama Route, taking in the breathtaking beauty of Bourke’s Luck Potholes, God’s Window, and the Three Rondavels. Return to your lodge for dinner and a relaxing evening around the fire.

Days 26–27: Kruger to Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary – Eswatini
Enjoy a final game drive through Kruger before entering the lush, mountainous kingdom of Eswatini. Camp at Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, where smaller, non-dangerous animals roam freely. Day 27 includes a guided nature walk and time to explore hiking and cultural activities at your leisure.

Day 28: Eswatini to Zululand & St Lucia – South Africa
Re-enter South Africa and travel into KwaZulu-Natal’s scenic Zululand region. Overnight in St Lucia, a village on the edge of iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Keep an eye out for hippos wandering through the streets at night!

Day 29: Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve & iSimangaliso Wetland Park – South Africa
Start with a game drive in the Big 5 Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve. Return to St Lucia for an afternoon estuary cruise through iSimangaliso Wetland Park, where hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds thrive in this unique coastal ecosystem.

Days 30–31: Zululand to Drakensberg Mountains – South Africa

Day 32 & 33: Drakensberg to Lesotho – Exploring the Maloti Mountains
We travel through the striking Golden Gate National Park, cross into the Kingdom of Lesotho, and ascend scenic mountain passes to reach a remote village near Maseru. Settle into this high-altitude haven nestled among the Maloti Mountains, where traditional Basotho culture thrives.
On Day 33, enjoy a guided hike to a waterfall and ancient rock art. The rest of the day is yours to explore or join a pony trekking excursion on the sure-footed Basotho ponies.

Day 34: Lesotho to Graaff-Reinet & the Valley of Desolation
We descend the mountains and re-enter South Africa, traversing the arid Great Karoo. Our destination is Graaff-Reinet, a historic town surrounded by vast plains and dramatic landscapes. En route, we pass the source of the mighty Orange River, linking our journey’s beginning and end.

Day 35 & 36: Graaff-Reinet to Addo Elephant National Park & Gqeberha
We start Day 35 with a sunrise visit to the Valley of Desolation, followed by a scenic drive to Addo Elephant National Park. Enjoy a thrilling game drive in this renowned Big 5 park before overnighting in Gqeberha (formerly Port Elizabeth).
Day 36 includes a second safari in Addo to spot elephants, buffalos, lions, and more. Return to Gqeberha for an afternoon of relaxation or coastal exploration.

Day 37: Gqeberha to Jeffreys Bay & Tsitsikamma, Garden Route

Day 38: Explore Tsitsikamma National Park
Day 38 offers outdoor exploration in Tsitsikamma National Park. Join a guided hike on the scenic Otter Trail to a waterfall and rock pool. Optional adventures include canopy tours, woodcutter’s journeys, or the world’s highest commercial bungee jump from Bloukrans Bridge.

Day 39: Tsitsikamma to Knysna, Oudtshoorn & Cango Caves
Today, we journey through the Garden Route to Knysna, then over the Outeniqua Mountains into the Klein Karoo. In Oudtshoorn, we tour the impressive Cango Caves and spend the night on a working ostrich farm.

Day 40: Oudtshoorn to Route 62, Cape Agulhas & Arniston/Hermanus
We travel the scenic Route 62, stopping at local farm stalls before reaching Cape Agulhas, the southernmost point of Africa. Snap photos at the place where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. Overnight in either Arniston or Hermanus.

Day 41: Hermanus to Cape Whale Coast & Cape Town
Our final day begins with a coastal walk along Hermanus, a top whale-watching destination (July–Nov). We follow the Cape Whale Route and visit Stony Point Nature Reserve to see the African Penguin colony. We end our Southern Africa Circuit Safari in Cape Town, beneath the iconic Table Mountain.
