Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Your 5 Day Tanzania Safari begins in Arusha with a briefing from your safari guide before heading to Tarangire National Park. Known for its vast elephant herds and ancient baobab trees, Tarangire is a wildlife haven. Enjoy a scenic game drive and picnic lunch in the bush before arriving at your tented safari lodge overlooking Lake Burunge. Unwind with a sundowner or cozy up by the fire at this tranquil retreat.
Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continue toward Serengeti National Park via the Ngorongoro Highlands, passing through local villages and the Rift Valley. Stop to admire views of the Ngorongoro Crater before entering Serengeti Park. The game drive begins immediately as you travel to your central Serengeti camp, where you’ll spend the night surrounded by the wilderness. Stay at Kati Kati Tented Camp (or similar) and fall asleep to the sounds of the wild.
Day 3: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Today is dedicated to a full-day Serengeti safari. Explore one of the most renowned game reserves in Africa in search of the Big Five and other iconic wildlife. Depending on the season, you may witness the Wildebeest Great Migration—a dramatic natural event that draws predators and photographers alike. Return to your tented camp after an exhilarating day in the Serengeti wilderness.
Note: From January to mid-March, you’ll stay at Kati Kati Ndutu Camp near the Serengeti-Ngorongoro border for better access to the migrating herds.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater & Karatu
Enjoy a morning game drive en route to Ngorongoro Crater. Descend into this UNESCO World Heritage Site, known as the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and home to an extraordinary concentration of wildlife. After an unforgettable crater floor safari, ascend and travel to Karatu, where you’ll overnight at a charming lodge near the crater highlands. Optional afternoon walks in nearby coffee plantations are available if time permits.
Day 5: Karatu to Arusha
After a relaxing breakfast, begin your return journey to Arusha. Enjoy scenic views on the drive back and pause for a picnic lunch along the way. Your 5 Day Tanzania Safari concludes in Arusha, with drop-off at Kilimanjaro International Airport or your post-safari accommodation. You can also extend your adventure with an optional Zanzibar beach holiday package.
