These 5 days luxury Primate safaris takes you to two of the top National parks in Uganda with renown primate safari experience. You will visit Kibale forest national park also known as the primate capital of the world. The parks boost with the flourishing chimpanzee population compared to other parts of the world. While in kibale, you will take part in chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi nature walk in Bigodi swamp best spot for birding and nature lovers. Then to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park for Gorilla trekking experience. Bwindi forest has got the largest population for gorillas distributed in different sectors of the park. While in Bwindi, you will also participate in other activities like the Batwa community walk where you will visit the nearby communities in the park where you interact with the locals(optional) or to lake Bunyonyi one of the beautiful and peaceful lakes in Uganda.

5 Days Luxury Primate Safari: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park
Your safari drive guide will pick you up from the hotel in Kampala or Entebbe after your morning breakfast, he will brief you about the safari as you start your journey driving southwestern Uganda. Along the way you will have brief stopover as the equator crossing where will take some photographs and stretch your legs, check some craft shops. Embark on your journey and drive to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch, continue to kibale arriving the park in the afternoon, check in to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi Nature walk
Wake up early and morning breakfast. After, head out to the park headquarters to attend a briefing on the rules and regulations for tracking the chimpanzees, after you will be divided in groups and assigned an expert ranger who will accompany to the starting point of the trek. The activity will take about 30 minutes to 6 hours. During the trek, you will encounter other primate species like black and white colobus monkeys, olive baboons, grey cheeked mangabeys, several bird species, tree species among others. When you have found the chimps, you will be allowed one hour with them as you take photographs, record videos and also observe them as they go about their daily activities.
After, trek back to the headquarters where you will be awarded with the certificate of participation in chimpanzee trekking. After return to the lodge for lunch and brief rest. In the afternoon you will go on Bigodi nature walk at the Bigodi swamp, which is also bidders’ paradise. You will be able to see several bird species like the Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species as well as other primate species including; several monkey species, baboons, plant species and also chimpanzees are frequent visitors. In the evening return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park
Have morning breakfast, and after, check out of the lodge and drive to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will have lunch enroute. Embark on your journey arriving the park in the afternoon, proceed and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Mountain Gorilla Tracking Bwindi, Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them as you watch them play, feed, breast feed and observe them go about their daily activities. Thereafter, trek back to the park headquarter where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.
Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lodge, dotted with several islands.
