Day-by-Day Botswana Camping Safari Itinerary

Days 1–2: Chobe Riverfront – Chobe National Park

Welcome to Botswana! Your Botswana Camping Safari begins at Kasane Airport, where your guide welcomes you and takes you straight to the Chobe River for a relaxing boat cruise. Expect to see elephants, hippos, buffalo, and rich birdlife. After the cruise, travel at game-drive pace to your secluded riverside campsite. Enjoy bush sunsets, drinks by the fire, and dinner under the stars.

Days 3–4: Savute – Chobe National Park

Continue south to the dramatic landscapes of Savute, where wildlife dynamics shift with the water flow of the Savute Channel. Known for intense predator activity, especially lion prides preying on elephants, Savute offers thrilling game drives. Spend two nights camping in the wilderness, surrounded by vast open plains and legendary wildlife stories.

Days 5–6: Khwai River Area – Moremi Game Reserve

Head to the Khwai River, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. Enjoy a bush picnic en route and settle into your new campsite. Explore the diverse Khwai floodplains on game drives and experience the peaceful mokoro safari—a slow canoe trip through narrow channels and lagoons, ideal for spotting rare birds and aquatic life up close.

Days 7–8: Xakanaxa (Third Bridge) – Moremi Game Reserve

Camp in the Xakanaxa region of Moremi, deep in the Okavango Delta’s eastern corner. Moremi is a protected, UNESCO-listed ecosystem home to elephants, hippos, lions, rhinos, cheetahs, wild dogs, and hundreds of bird species. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives through this thriving wilderness, witnessing Botswana’s wildlife in action against a stunning delta backdrop.

Day 9: Flight to Maun – End of Safari

Enjoy one last early morning game drive in Moremi before being transferred to a bush airstrip. Board a light aircraft for a scenic flight over the Okavango Delta, with panoramic views of the waterways and Chief’s Island. Your Botswana Camping Safari ends upon arrival in Maun around midday, just in time for your onward travel.
