Day-by-Day Itinerary: Botswana Camping Safari
Days 1–2: Xakanaxa, Moremi Game Reserve
Begin your Botswana Camping Safari with a scenic flight from Maun to Moremi Game Reserve. Take in aerial views of the Okavango Delta before landing at a remote bush airstrip. Meet your guide and enjoy a game drive en route to your mobile camp in the Xakanaxa/Third Bridge area. Spend two nights here, exploring this UNESCO-listed wilderness on game drives, with excellent chances of seeing lions, leopards, elephants, wild dogs, and more. Enjoy evenings around the campfire and fall asleep to the sounds of the bush.
Days 3–4: Khwai River Area
Travel to the Khwai region on Day 3. This drier habitat offers excellent game viewing opportunities along the river, which forms the boundary between the Khwai Community and Moremi Reserve. Explore the floodplains on game drives and enjoy a peaceful mokoro safari — a traditional dug-out canoe experience that allows you to discover the delta’s quiet lagoons and hidden wildlife. Camp here for two nights in a private, unfenced site.
Days 5–6: Savute, Chobe National Park
Your adventure continues north to Savute, a region known for its unpredictable landscape and dramatic wildlife interactions. Camp for two nights in the Savute wilderness and explore the dry terrain on game drives. Savute’s unique ecosystem — shaped by the intermittent flow of the Savute Channel — is home to lions, cheetahs, wild dogs, and elephants. This is big game territory at its finest.
Days 7–8: Chobe Riverfront, Chobe National Park
Journey to the lush riverbanks of the Chobe River. Set up camp near the water and explore the area on morning game drives. The highlight is the afternoon safari boat cruise on Day 8 — a classic Botswana experience. Watch herds of elephants, buffalo, hippos, and diverse birdlife from the comfort of the boat. Spend your last night under the stars with a final bush dinner.
Day 9: Chobe to Kasane
Enjoy a final game drive after breakfast before transferring to Kasane, where your 9-day Botswana Camping Safari comes to an end around 09:00.
