3 DAYS GORILLA HABITUATION EXPERIENCE
The 3 day Bwindi Gorilla Habituation safari offers you an experience with the mountain gorillas like no other! The Habituation experience allows you spend up to four hours with the mountain gorillas unlike the normal gorilla trek which allows you only one hour. The gorilla habituation tour allows you join researchers and other park rangers for a full day gorilla activity in which you get to observe and take photos with the mountain gorillas in the wild. This tour is therefore recommended for those who want to spend a longer time with the mountain gorillas.
Tour Summary
Day 1: Set off from Kampala or Entebbe for the Bwindi Impenetrable national park where you will do the 3 days gorilla habituation tour.
Day 2: Wake up very early, have breakfast and proceed to the briefing point where you will transfer from and trek into the forest for the gorilla habituation experience in which you will spend over 4 hours with the endangered mountain gorillas.
Day 3: Transfer back to Kampala or Entebbe where you will be dropped off to your hotel or to the aiport for your scheduled flight back home.
Day-By-Day: Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Entebbe / Kampala to Bwindi for your 3 day gorilla habituation tour
You will be picked from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe by your guide for the start of your 3 days gorilla habituation safari. The trip starts by 7:00am with a brief stop at the equator crossing for photography and later for a lunch break in Mbarara town.
Continue to the Bwindi impenetrable national park driving throught the rolling hills of southwestern Uganda also known as the Kigezi region. Proceed to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 2: Gorilla habituation experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will wake up early in the morning, have your breakfast and head to the park headquarters to join other travelers for briefing about dos and don’ts while with mountain gorillas on your habituation experience. After briefing, you will start your trek into the forest guided by researchers and guides. During your trek, you may encounter several birds, other animals and primates in the forest and once you have found the gorillas you will spend four hours with them and return back to the Lodge for overnight. You will have an opportunity to listen and observer researchers doing their work of habituating gorillas and if possible you will be called upon to participate by collecting samples, naming of group members, making calls and so much more. A maximum of four adults is allowed in a habituation group per day.

Day 3: Departure
After and early morning breakfast, we transfer back to Kamapala or Entebbe to mark the end of your 3 day gorilla habituation safari. You will stop over at Mbarara for lunch, then continue to Kampala or Entebbe where you will be dropped off at your hotel or to the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
Note: If you plan to fly-out immediately after the safari, you are required to book a flight that leaves by 8:00pm in the night. This is because you will be expected to arrive in Entebbe by 5:00pm on the last day of your trip.
