Vumbura Plains - Overview
Introduction to Vumbura Plains
Botswana, Okavango Delta
Nestled alongside the Moremi Game Reserve in the northern reaches of the Okavango Delta, this opulent safari camp is embraced by a dense cover of trees and elevated on wooden platforms, providing breathtaking vistas of the vibrant Delta landscape. Visitors at either of the two 7-roomed satellite camps can partake in exhilarating land- and water-based activities in an unfenced private concession. Vumbura North Camp welcomes families and groups seeking shared experiences, while Vumbura South Camp offers a romantic escape for honeymooners.
Birders will revel in the chance to spot slaty egrets, wattled cranes, and the elusive Pel’s fishing owl, while game enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to check off their lists and capture photos of their favorites (all 4x4s come equipped with handy bean bags to steady your camera). Vumbura Plains features two motorboats, each accommodating six guests, along with a handful of mekoro for thrilling excursions across the flooded plains. Or embark on nature walks with an expert guide and experience the thrill of superb catch-and-release fishing.
At Vumbura Plains, the focus is on providing a serene escape amidst a breathtaking expanse of untamed nature, perfect for those seeking a rejuvenating getaway. Even the walls of your expansive private shower are made of floor-to-ceiling glass, offering serene views of herds of grazing impala or wandering zebras.
