Zarafa Dhow Suite - Overview
Discover the Zarafa Dhow Suite, nestled in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta.
Zarafa Dhow Suites is aptly named: Zarafa translates to ‘the beloved one’ or ‘the lovely one’ in Arabic, and these two private villas on the banks of the Zibadianja Lagoon in Botswana embody both charm and affection.
The villas embody a perfect blend of romance and excitement, featuring opulent décor in rich reds, warm browns, and gleaming brass and copper. They evoke the vibrant essence and allure of Africa, with a clear homage to its past – the decks are crafted from century-old teak railroad ties. Canopy ceilings descend to reveal open sides, showcasing breathtaking views that captivate the spirit. Connecting the two en suite bedrooms in each suite or villa is a lounge and dining area, complemented by a spacious deck and a private swimming pool. A fire pit is an enchanting spot to gather as the sun sets.
In a world where connectivity often reigns supreme, Zarafa Dhow Suites offers a luxurious escape for friends or family, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of modern life and surrounded by the thrill of the unknown. This secluded getaway in the remote northern region of Botswana is nestled within the exclusive Selinda Reserve, offering stunning views of the pristine Zibadianja Lagoon.
The lagoon draws in a wealth of wildlife – during the dry season, you can spot hundreds of buffalo and elephants – and the area connects the Okavango Delta with the Chobe/Savute corridors. It lies at the intersection of northern Botswana’s vibrant wildlife territories, where you can encounter leopard, lion, elephant, buffalo, red lechwe, zebra, and giraffe throughout the year. The area is home to a variety of rare species, including the African wild dog, which typically den near camp during the dry season, as well as cheetah, roan, and sable.
