Day 1 to 4: Maun to Oddballs’ Camp – Okavango Delta, Botswana
Your Botswana safari begins in Maun, where you are collected by Delta Air for your scenic flight into the pristine Okavango Delta. Enjoy breathtaking aerial views of the delta en route to the airstrip where your friendly, personal guide meets you. This local guide is shared between a maximum of two guests and is assigned to you for the duration of your stay in the Okavango Delta.
Your base for exploring the massive Okavango Delta is Oddballs’ Camp, a remote bush hideaway that is only accessible by light aircraft. The laid-back but comfortable tented safari camp is set on the edge of Chief’s Island, the largest of the delta islands, bordering on the world-famous Moremi Game Reserve.
Spend your first night in the magical delta at Oddballs’ Camp, before embarking on a two-night camping trip to Chief’s Island. Please note that the camping trip is conducted in Mokoro canoes when water levels are high enough (after the rainy season). If the water levels are too low during your safari in Botswana, walking safaris will replace the mokoro rides.
During your stay, your expert guide will lead you through the heart of the Okavango Delta’s pristine wilderness. You’ll learn about the fascinating wildlife and plant species that make up this wetland ecosystem, from elephants and lions to hippos and a diverse array of birdlife.
About Oddballs’ Camp in the Okavango Delta
At Oddballs’ Camp, you stay in one of the 15 large dome tents set under canvas roofs on raised wooden platforms. The camp is eco-friendly, powered by solar energy, and offers a tranquil back-to-nature experience with incredible views over the delta grasslands and woodlands.
Day 5 to 6: Oddballs’ Camp to Ghoha Hills Camp – Chobe, Botswana
On day five, you’ll fly from Oddballs’ Camp to the Savuti airstrip inside the world-renowned Chobe National Park. Then, take a 45-minute game drive to Ghoha Hills Camp, nestled in the heart of the wildlife-rich Savuti Channel region. This intimate safari camp overlooks the stunning African bushveld, providing an ideal base for your next adventure.
Explore the Savuti region on morning and afternoon game drives, where you’ll have the chance to spot predators like lions, hyenas, and cheetahs. The Savuti Channel, which has recently begun to flow again, brings life to the marshland, attracting a wide range of herbivores and birds.
About Ghoha Hills Camp in Chobe National Park
Ghoha Hills Camp offers exclusive accommodation in 11 luxury tented suites with en suite bathrooms. The camp’s main area features an observation platform with 180-degree views of the surrounding wildlife, including lions, elephants, and a variety of antelope species. Guests can also enjoy a spa, swimming pool, and optional helicopter trips.
Day 7: Ghoha Hills Camp to Maun, Botswana
On the final day of your Botswana safari, enjoy a morning game drive before flying back to Maun to conclude your unforgettable adventure in northern Botswana.
Botswana Safari Note:
We recommend booking this safari during the late fall, winter, and early spring seasons for the best experience. The summer months can be too hot for walking safaris in the Okavango Delta, and the water levels may be too low for mokoro trips.
