Bwindi impenetrable National Park Weather: Bwindi impenetrable forest national park is one of the top destinations is Africa that is famous for the great mountain gorilla trekking experience. Bwindi forest is home to almost half of the mountain gorilla population remaining in the world and it has about 18 habituated mountain gorilla families which are open for gorilla tourism.

Bwindi forest national park is divided into four sectors that harbors the habituated mountain gorilla families which are open for gorilla tourism, such as Buhoma sector which is the best sector to trek the mountain gorillas, Nkuringo sector in south, Rushaga sector in the south as well as Ruhija sector that is situated in the eastern region of the park. There is only one sector where gorilla habituation process is carried out and that is Rushaga sector that has two families such as Bushaho gorilla family as well as Bikingi gorilla family.

Besides the endangered mountain gorillas, there are wildlife animals that live in Bwindi forest as well as birds, such as the white and black colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, blue monkeys, the red tailed monkeys, the olive baboons, the elephants, buffaloes, civet, and the duikers among others.

March, April, and may is referred to as the long rainy season while as late-October, November and early December is the short rain season. During to the rainy season it rains any time of the day, the weather is always very cold, it can sometimes drizzle the whole day. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest is difficult due the heavy rains that makes the ground wet and Bwindi forest has tall tree canopies that don’t allow easy penetration of sunlight the ground. The trekking trails are wet, muddy and slippery thus making the hiking of the rolling hills of the forest difficult. However though trekking in the rainy season is done in an awkwardness manner the activity is extremely interesting especially if the travelers are physically fit, they will enjoy the mud as they hike thus giving travelers unforgettable exceptional experience.

The dry season, this is during the months of June, July, august, September to October, this is the long dry season, while as December, January and February is the short dry season. During there is little rain, or even no rains expected to destruct the gorilla  trekking and the roads, trekking trails are dry and passable compared to rainy season. However the weather in the dry season is hot during the day time and it is cold in the evening hours. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi forest is best done during the dry season due to little rainfall received and hiking is easy because the ground is not wet and slippery.
