You can spend a half-day or a full-day interacting with chimpanzees in Kibale Forest by participating in the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience.

Chimpanzees are gradually introduced to people in the process of “habituation,” which helps them get used to our presence. What Happens During Kibale Forest Chimpanzee Habituation Experience

Only Kibale National Park offers the Chimpanzee Habituation Experience. Because non-habituated groups dwell farther into the forest, away from the major pathways, and they migrate more quickly to new areas, the trekking is more difficult than a typical chimpanzee trek.

The chimpanzees awaken at 6 am, and the experience lasts all day until they make new nests and retire for the night around 7 pm. You may observe them going about their daily business as they feed, hunt, patrol the area, relax, and take care of the young.
