Gorilla habituation experience in Africa is only done in Uganda in Bwindi forest national park on only two gorilla families found in Rushaga sector of Bwindi forest.

The Uganda gorilla trekking permit has been fixed for so many years at 600 USD regardless of the season that traveler has visited Uganda unlike the Rwanda gorilla permit that was changed from 750 USD to 1500 USD per person per day.

However by next year the Uganda gorilla trekking permit cost will change from 600 USD per person per day to 700 USD per person per day and the increase of the 100 USD is to upgrade on the gorilla trekking services as well as for ensuring the sustainable gorilla tourism. There has been no online purchasing of the Uganda gorilla permit but by June 2020 the online services will very active and in operation so that many travelers will be in position to easily make booking of the gorilla trekking permit.

How to acquire a Uganda gorilla trekking permit?

Since there is no online purchase of the gorilla trekking permit, for travelers who would like to book themselves the gorilla permit, they can call directly at Uganda Wildlife Authority head offices for direct booking. Later after the purchase, the tour operator will send you an email of Uganda gorilla trekking permit or it can be issued to you on arrival.

What is the gorilla trekking age limit?

The Uganda wildlife authority allows a person above 15 years of age to trek the mountain gorillas in her parks, therefore a person below 15 years of age is not allowed to trek the mountain gorillas and this person is referred to as a child. This is a rule that should be taken serious by many travelers planning to come and enjoy gorilla trekking experience in Uganda.

However, there are many incidences when  a child below 15 years o age will be allowed to participate in the gorilla trekking experience. Such as when a traveler is 14 years and is about to celebrate 15 years of age.
