Embark on a 22-day Overland Safari Adventure through Africa’s diverse landscapes and cultures, from the iconic Victoria Falls in Zambia to the renowned Johannesburg in South Africa. Your unforgettable journey begins in Livingstone, Zambia, where you’ll explore the awe-inspiring Victoria Falls, followed by a canoe trip along the Lower Zambezi River. Discover the wildlife of South Luangwa National Park through game drives and bush walks, and unwind on the stunning beaches of Lake Malawi in Malawi. Experience the breathtaking beauty of Mozambique’s Bazaruto Islands on a dhow trip before heading south to Kruger National Park, South Africa’s premier game reserve, where you’ll seek out Africa’s Big Five.

Day 1 – 2: LIVINGSTONE – ZAMBIA [camping Bx1]

The tour begins in Livingstone, Zambia, at 14:00 where you’ll have two days to explore Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Known as the ‘Smoke that Thunders’, Victoria Falls drops 108 meters (360 feet) into the Zambezi Gorge below. Opt for adventure activities like white-water rafting, bungee jumping, or scenic flights over the falls (at your own expense).

Day 3: KAFUE RIVER – ZAMBIA [camping BLD]

On Day 3, we head towards the Kafue River, crossing the forested Miombo hills, and camp overnight by the river.

Day 4 – 5: CANOEING ON LOWER ZAMBEZI – ZAMBIA [camping BLD]

Explore the stunning Lower Zambezi River over two days. Canoe along the river, home to elephants and other wildlife, passing local villages and immersing yourself in the tranquil African landscape. Camp on an island in the heart of the African bush and enjoy game viewing and bird watching. On Day 5, continue canoeing and enjoy the rich wildlife along the river.

Day 6: LUSAKA – GREAT EAST ROAD – ZAMBIA [lodge BLD]

Travel to Lusaka, Zambia’s bustling capital, to stock up on supplies. After a long drive, relax at a lodge with en-suite facilities, a restaurant, and a bar.

Day 7 – 9: SOUTH LUANGWA NATIONAL PARK – ZAMBIA [camping BLD]

Head to South Luangwa National Park, one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations. Explore the park on game walks and 4×4 game drives, where you’ll encounter elephants, lions, leopards, and more. Camp along the Luangwa River and enjoy guided bush walks and night drives (spotting nocturnal animals).

Day 10 & 11: LAKE MALAWI – MALAWI [camping BLD]

Cross into Malawi, known as “The Warm Heart of Africa.” Spend two days relaxing on the shores of Lake Malawi. Take a boat trip to explore the islands and snorkel in the clear waters around Otter Point to observe colorful endemic fish.

Day 12 & 13: TETE REGION – MOZAMBIQUE [camping BLD]

Continue south into Mozambique’s remote Tete region, where we stay at a basic campsite.

Day 14 & 15: BAZARUTO ISLANDS [camping Bx2, Lx2, Dx1]

Arrive in Vilanculos, Mozambique, and embark on a dhow trip to the Bazaruto Archipelago. Explore Magaruque Island, relax on the white-sand beaches, and enjoy fresh seafood. You’ll also have the opportunity to snorkel in the clear Indian Ocean waters to view the vibrant marine life.

Day 16 & 17: INHAMBANE [casitas Bx2 Lx2 Dx1]

Travel to the historic town of Inhambane, known for its colonial architecture and mix of cultural influences. Stay in reed-and-thatch casitas by the beach, where you can enjoy optional activities such as scuba diving and snorkeling, especially in Praia do Tofo, famous for its manta rays and whale sharks.

Day 18: CHIZAVANE [camping BL-]

Continue along the coast to Chizavane, where you’ll spend the afternoon relaxing on pristine beaches and enjoying optional activities like kayaking and snorkeling in the lagoon.

Day 19 – 20: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK – SOUTH AFRICA [camping BLD]

Enter Kruger National Park in South Africa, home to the Big Five. Spend two days exploring the park on exciting game drives, spotting lions, elephants, giraffes, and more. You can also join an optional night game drive to observe nocturnal wildlife.

Day 21 – 22: GRASKOP & JOHANNESBURG [chalets Bx2 Lx1 Dx1]

Enjoy an early morning game drive before heading towards Johannesburg via the Panoramic Route. Highlights include God’s Window and the Three Sisters. On Day 22, arrive in Johannesburg, where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure.

Child Policy: Children aged 12–17 are welcome on this group safari, provided they are accompanied by an adult.
